Mountain View topples the Lady Mustangs

Homestead faced Mountain View HS on Friday, 1/13.  Despite a herculean effort by senior Emi Kong with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 7 steals, the Lady Mustangs were hampered by additional injuries to key players, and they lost 40-35. HHS Girls Varsity Basketball Team upsets Gunn 58-56.

With 9 days left until the Presidential Inauguration, the Lady Mustangs battled against the Gunn Titans, defeating them 58-56.  Gunn jumped ahead in the first quarter.  Homestead Girls were led by senior Emi Kong with 15 points, 7 steals and 8 rebounds.  Senior Rachel Hildebrand’s offensive and defensive rebounding forged a lead until the fourth quarter.

The incessant rain and wind did not stop the spectators from filing into the Large Gym for the Girls Varsity Basketball season opener!  The 2016 undefeated El Camino League champions, now promoted to the DeAnza League, lost to Los Gatos, 64-44.  Top scorer for Homestead was junior Lindsey Takahashi with 13 points, aided by the seniors
